Air Fiji - union buster
In response to Air Fiji sacking the president of the Air Fiji Engineering Association (AFEA), 30 engineers went on strike on 27 July.

The airline sacked 27 of the engineers arguing that the strike was illegal, and advertised their jobs. In addition, using another standard union busting technique, the company has filed to sue Attar Singh, AFEA and Fiji Council of Trade Unions general secretary, for damages of $600,000 (US$ 333,000).

On 17 August the strikers went before the Arbitration Tribunal to overturn the company’s decision to fire them.
