Workers sue for back pay

Orientex Palau, a subsidiary of Orientex Nanjing, sacked workers and refused to pay them any entitlements and wages after the company went bankrupt in March. The parent company took control of the subsidiary.
Palau is a cluster of small islands in the North Pacific, on the west side of the Caroline Islands, east of the Philippines.

The 200 plus workers, all women migrants from China, with no money to return home, turned to the courts for recompense. The Supreme Court allowed some of the workers to be included in a civil action against the failed garment company; workers demand a portion of money raised when Orientex sells off its assets.
