Murder sparks strike

A Rajbari district transport union leader named Azim was hacked to death by a group of thugs on 27 January.
Transport workers staged a one day strike stopping all transport in Rajbari town the following Sunday to protest the murder. They held a rally and held a protest march to demand the killers be brought to justice.
One person was arrested while Azim’s brother filed a case against 15 suspects.
It is not known why Azim was murdered.
